  1. are you able to edit or delete a record after importing in this manner? My experience was that the table becomes "read-only". Quite frustrating as I merely wish to import the column headers (50 of them) from an existing spreadsheet and there is no connection to the spreadsheet. It appears as if I will need to manually copy and paste the text from each cell in the spreadsheet header row. what good is an import function if it only gives you a read-only table? I'm new so I'm hoping that I'm just missing something simple, though the web articles seem to indicate otherwise – https://help.libreoffice.org/Common/Importing_and_Exporting_Data_in_Base
Update – found the answer. I was trying to add the primary key after initial table creation. When I tried again and selected the option for it to create a new field for the primary key, the resulting table was not read-only. thanks!

  2. Thankyou! Worth mentioning that if you have any text fields longer than 255chars (like a memo field in access) the column definition step doesn't let you set the length to more than 255 unless you choose Text (VARCHAR) from the datatype list again, even though it's already the one selected.
